Welcome to Madison Cello Ensemble – Winter/Spring Semester 2026

Featuring weekly repertoire classes, improvisation, chamber coaching,  contemporary ensembles

& special workshops with renowned guest clinicians!

New this semester – monthly “Practice with  Pizza!”  2nd week of each month!

Ensembles and Group classes begin  January 6th and run through June  9th 

Group Classes and Ensemble Rehearsals are held at MYArts at 1055 East Mifflin Steet on Tuesdays.

The Winter Spring Semester has 21 weeks.  There are no classes for Spring Break on March  24th. 

Highlights Include:

Bach Around the Clock, March 8th

Spring Workshop (date tbd)

Spring Solo Recital  and Ensembles  Concert April 26th, WYSO Building

The Madison Symphony Gala Performance June 13th, Overture Center 

Celebrating Summer Solstice with  concerts on June 21st as a part of “Make Music Madison”, Year End Family Picninc

Includes community outreach, workshops, IST recitals, Soundbath  and  MCE Studio recitals

MCE ensembles and classes include:

Weekly unique contemporary small cello ensembles

Weekly Suzuki and Cello Repertoire classes at age and experience level-with added overlap to extend skills and provide peer mentorship!

Monthly workshops, community performances and guest clinicians 

Improvisation classes and workshops

Mock auditions

Chamber music collaboration with Farley’s Music

Expert instruction and coaching

Fun and friendship with peers 

Community Service Outreach and Performances

Large group Cello Choir

Adult Cello Ensembles

Music and mindfulness, stress management and healthy movement for musicians

Special workshops feature guest clinicians for community cello students.  Cellists not enrolled in MCE classes are welcome!
